MAPLE LEAVES
Maple leaves fall and fade
like old exposed negatives
and none is individual
and none recalls its image.
Maple leaf, what was it you took,
pointed, on fire, towards the light,
metered exactly? Was it
worth the memorial capture?
Here is an album of another year.
None will remember them. Techniques alter.
A picnic, celebration, wedding, christening? Somehow
the light got in and spoiled the picture.
